Enlighten AI is a free grading and feedback site that allows teachers to give specific, actionable, and timely feedback to their students. The data collected can also be used to drive instruction with summary reports. Enlighten AI will also create rubrics, or teachers can use their own rubrics. Rubrics created can be quick rubrics that just give the total points or more advanced ones. All rubrics can be edited, duplicated, and archived, as well as reusable past rubrics. Feedback to students can be given individually or in bulk via a PDF or email. For Enlighten AI to generate your teaching approach to feedback, teachers will have to provide feedback and responses in the first assignments created, and Enlighten AI will adapt to teachers' grading styles and feedback.
Enlighten Al can support grading for Google Documents submitted via Google Classroom, and teachers can also send assignments via Enlighten AI by having students sign in via a code or link. Enlighten AI is available in Spanish.

In the Classroom
In the classroom, teachers can use Enlighten AI to assist with grading. Since Enlighten AI will sync with your Google Classroom, Enlighten AI can grade your Google Classroom assignments and provide feedback to the students. Teachers can create rubrics for which Enlighten AI will do the grading for them. ClassQuestion is an easy-to-use tool for getting feedback. Send questions and receive instant feedback with a plot of the results. Create a free account, then use the menu to locate how to create a new class. After making a class, follow the prompts to create a question by adding the number of answers and identifying the correct answer; choose none if conducting a poll or if only recording student participation. Save your question, then share it from your classroom folders. To respond, students create an account and access questions on their own devices using your classroom code. Your results are available in the Question Data section of the account dashboard.

Snorkl uses AI to generate personalized feedback on students' verbal explanations of assignments. After viewing a question, students create a recording with options for drawing on a virtual whiteboard to enhance their responses. After submitting a response, students receive feedback that identifies positive information in their responses and areas for improvement. Use questions from Snorkl's library or create questions to add to your library and assign to students. When assigning activities to your class, options are available to allow students to view their classmates' responses and comments if desired. Students access the assignments by visiting the link provided after creating the assignment or using the join code. As students post responses, teachers receive insights based on the shared answers that describe students' understandings and misunderstandings of the topic.

Look for the Free Tools or Freemium icon for free resources Auto Classmate offers. These include an AI-powered lesson plan generator, an activity generator, a would you rather question generator, and a lesson plan and activity forecasting tool, with additional tools being added often. After selecting a tool, input the information in the prompts, such as grade level, content, and options for output. Some tools require registration; others do not. After responding, Auto Classmate offers options to remix for additional suggestions, download the information as a PDF, and provide ideas on how to use the AI responses.

Replit is an online coding platform that works with many different programming languages. Many of Replit's tools incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance productivity and provide suggestions when coding. Begin by creating an account and choose from options for using Replit. Options include personal use, work, or education as a teacher or student. After setting up your class account, choose the +Create Repl and select a template from the programming templates offered. Use the code editor to write code and receive suggestions from Replit when creating games, text, websites, and more. Invite others to join you on Replit to collaborate and work together on your coding project. When complete, use the Deploy icon to produce a stable public version of your product.

Brisk is a Chrome extension that uses AI to convert the reading level of any webpage to a different grade level or language, creates quizzes and resources from YouTube videos and documents, and much more. Once converted to a chosen level, Brisk offers tools for creating quizzes, giving feedback, and detecting writing created with AI. Begin by clicking the link to download Brisk from the Chrome store for free, and install the extension to your device. Once installed, click the Brisk icon on your toolbar from any website, then select the grade level and language desired. Brisk opens a new Google Doc with the information requested. Use the Brisk icon from within this Google Doc to find options for additional tools for creating quizzes, giving feedback, and detecting AI. Brisk offers a tutorial video that provides instructions for new members.

Twee offers a selection of artificial intelligence (AI) tools designed with English teachers in mind. Create a free account to access the many resources that work with video, interact with text, develop vocabulary, provide grammar practice, and more. Twee's video tools work with YouTube, reviewed here to create questions based on the video's content, create summaries of the video, and suggest warm-up questions for use before watching videos. Additional tools provide options to create various assessments, topics for discussion, and homework ideas. After selecting a tool, follow the prompts to make your activity. Some of Twee's tools offer the option to create text from an image, including turning a screenshot of a text page into text to use with the chosen resource. Copy the completed activities into any document to share with students or save as a PDF. A free account (at the time of this review) includes 5 runs a day, for text tools, 3 runs a day for media tools, and 5-minute limit for media input, and unlimited interactive sharing.

Use gotFeedback to provide quick assessments of students' writing and to focus on specific ways to improve their work. Use the Prompt Guide on gotFeedback to understand how to provide clear and actionable feedback to support students. If desired, share the revised writing example with students to use as a model for editing their work, or share the feedback and ask them to change based on that information. Use Google Docs or Microsoft Word for students to track and share writing revisions. For example, ask students to begin writing projects in Google Docs. After sharing their work, use gotFeedback to analyze the work based on your criteria, then share the feedback portion with the student. Ask the student to highlight areas that need improvement, then use that information as a starting point to revise the text below the original text. When finished, ask the student to write a short reflective piece on methods to improve his writing. ReadM is a reading app that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to support and encourage practicing reading skills. Sign in to view as a student since the teacher account only has a 30 day free trial. Student accounts include a dashboard that shares the number of coins won by reading, reading speed, number of books completed, and time spent reading. Students select books from the library that offers three different reading levels. Click on each word to hear the pronunciation, or use the microphone to read a sentence at a time and receive feedback on accuracy. Teacher accounts provide instant feedback on students' performance and reading progress, however after 30 days the teacher account is no longer free. If you decide to try the 30 day free teacher account, initially use it to assign groups by reading level and grade, use your voice to record content for students, and create and add books using AI tools.

QuestionWell uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate multiple-choice questions, learning objectives, and essential questions based on your text. Begin by signing in using your Google account, then add a topic, select a language (QuestionWell responds in over a dozen languages), and paste an optional reading passage. Leave the reading passage blank for QuestionWell to write a passage for you. When ready, click "Generate Set" to generate a set of multiple-choice questions and the reading passage if selected. Choose all questions, remove unwanted questions, or add your questions before sharing them with students. When ready, use the export link to print your quiz or share it with several sites, including Quizizz, reviewed here, Google Forms, reviewed here, and others. Free accounts allow members to copy and paste reading passages of up to 1,000 words and create multiple-choice questions.

Use QuestionWell to create review questions based on your selected reading materials, or let QuestionWell generate text based on your topic to use as an introduction to upcoming lessons. For example, as an introduction to an upcoming unit on the solar system, ask QuestionWell to generate questions about the solar system and include your grade level. Use the provided questions and personalize them as needed, then share the questions and reading passage to engage students in learning about your upcoming topic. ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot that allows members to have conversations that answer questions and assist with many tasks. Create an account using your email address, Google, or Microsoft account. Use the "Send a Message" box at the bottom of the page to type a chat request and click send. ChatGPT provides a response based on your input. Use the option to regenerate the request if you want to see different answers, or use the chat box to type in clarifying information to improve the response. Find your previous chats on the left side of the screen, and click any chat to edit, view, delete, or obtain a link to share. Always verify any information provided by ChatGPT before using it. This is an evolving tool, and many features change (or upgrade) on a regular basis.

In the Classroom
Use ChatGPT to increase your productivity and as a resource for finding classroom resources. For example, use the chat to find activities accompanying your current book study. An example question might be, "What are some activities to add to our study of Charlotte's Web in third grade?" Use a clarifying question to select one of the provided activities and ask for free online resources that support the provided response. This example includes several clarifying questions that provide additional ideas for books and activities to accompany Charlotte's. Ask ChatGPT to differentiate activities for students who need extra support or for those that need enrichment activities. Begin by creating a free account using your email address or Google account. Next, paste your notes or a website URL into the provided link; language options include English, Spanish, and Italian. Click the arrow to generate a quiz created from the information given. When complete, Yippity provides a list of flashcards with questions and answers; select test mode to view questions without the responses. If desired, edit questions and answers to suit your needs. Share quizzes using the URL found in the share link. Free accounts offer members the option to create three quizzes monthly.

There are two types of AI generators on the site; course planning and activity generators. The course planning generators can create lesson objectives, flash cards, topic notes, and a scheme of work. The course activity generator creates learning activities, rubrics, multiple-choice quizzes, SMART goals, discussion topics, and more. Curipod creates interactive lessons using AI (artificial intelligence) technology. Tasks include features for making word clouds, adding polls, questions, and more. Visit the Discover link to browse through ready-to-use templates or create an account, then copy and edit a lesson using a template or build one in just a few seconds using your prompt and instructions. When creating a new lesson, start with a blank slide or use templates that include a brain break, exit ticket, multiple choice, or complete lesson. The brain break generators include several stress-free tasks, such as Would You Rather questions, and fun writing and drawing prompts. To create new tasks, add a topic and include standards if desired. Another option allows you to import PowerPoint presentations and PDFs when creating new activities. When ready, share lessons with students using the provided QR code or the join code for students to access at curi.live. View statistics in your dashboard, including the number of times played and player results. Free accounts currently include unlimited players, five private Curipods, a shared workspace, and all core features.

In the Classroom
Use Curipod as a starting point for creating lessons and student activities, then modify the content to fit your curriculum and students' abilities and needs. The Brain Break activities are an excellent starting point for using Curipod in your classroom. Select an activity from the Brain Break options, then choose a grade level and follow the prompts to share a short mental break with your students. Copy and paste standards when creating a lesson as a starting point to add content for the lesson. When using any AI technology, verify the information provided is accurate before sharing it with students. Use Curripod as a flipped or blended learning activity, share the join code with students, and ask them to complete the activities within a designated period before reviewing together as a class. Easily modify any template to differentiate instruction for different groups of students. For example, when introducing decimals, provide a basic introduction with vocabulary and instructional content to one group of students but add more challenging content, such as adding decimals for students already familiar with this topic.
